Punk has always treated clothing as a starting point rather than a finished object. Patches sewn on the back, studs pushed through the shoulders, sleeves cut off, band names written in marker across the chest — the piece is supposed to accumulate. A heavyweight fleece takes that treatment far better than a thin one: it holds a stud without tearing, takes a patch without puckering, and survives a seam being unpicked and redone.

If you plan to add anything, work along existing seams wherever possible. Hardware set into the seam allowance is supported by three layers of fabric instead of one, which is why old jackets show their studs down the shoulder line and along the placket rather than scattered across open panels. That is structure, not just tradition.

It comes in white and black. White is the brightest and the most graphic, closest to how the artwork looks printed flat. Black is the deeper reading, where the lighter elements of the design appear to emerge from the base rather than sit on top of it. Two bases, two very different pieces.

Cut in brushed fleece, 300 to 380 gsm, with a lined hood, ribbed cuffs and hem and a kangaroo pocket. Dense hatching is the print that most needs that weight: closely spaced black lines merge into a flat grey mass on a fabric that absorbs too much ink, and the skull stops reading as a drawing.

The cut is oversized from the pattern stage. Take your usual size for the intended drop, or size down for a closer fit. Black trousers and heavy boots below, and whatever you decide to add to it over the next few years.
